My Life and Memories

‘My Life and Memories’ is a family business and the team consists of me, my husband and my son. My son is a qualified journalist, photographer and author and my husband is skilled in graphic design.  I am the ‘people person’ with a range of communication and writing skills.

I have been a registered social worker for many years and have so enjoyed working with older people and listening, in confidence, to their life stories and reminiscences.  I’ve also provided bereavement support and have come to realise that talking about someone who has died can be part of the healing process.

I quickly realised that each one of us, young or old, has a story to tell and one which will undoubtedly interest future generations.  I find every life story unique and interesting, whether someone has climbed Everest or just stayed in the same village all of his or her life.

I lost my mum and dad 20 years ago and found healing and consolation in compiling a booklet dedicated to each of their memories. It was this and my interest in family history that inspired me to offer this service “My Life and Memories”.
